On August 22, 2024, Tsinghua University Press (TUP) Life Sciences and Medicine Journals Portfolio office received the good news that Cancer Innovation was accepted for inclusion in Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) database. Previously, Infectious Medicine and Health Care Science were accepted by ESCI in July this year. This means that three out of the four English-language journals launched in 2022 have now been included in the ESCI database.
ESCI is a new database of the Web of Science Core Collection launched in 2015. It has been managed by Clarivate Analytics since 2017. The index aims to enhance the visibility of journals that demonstrate vitality and potential in emerging interdisciplinary fields and have a significant impact within the academic community. The ESCI has stringent selection criteria and encompasses over 8,000 journals, including more than 2,700 open access journals.
TUP has always been committed to creating high-quality academic journals and contributing wisdom and strength to the global academic community. Dr. Sun Yu, head of the Life Sciences and Medical Journals Portfolio office, stated that the Portfolio leverages Tsinghua University's exceptional academic resources and platforms to actively advance publishing in the life sciences and medicine. It currently manages 11 influential English-language journals, focusing on interdisciplinary development and enhancing academic quality. It endeavors to become a vital platform for the publication and exchange of scholarly achievements in the global fields of life sciences and medicine. The inclusion of these three journals in the ESCI is a testament of TUP's commitment to professional standards and the increasing academic influence of the journals. Moving forward, TUP will continue to uphold a rigorous academic approach and innovative publishing practices to foster academic advancement and scientific innovation.
About Infectious Medicine
Infectious Medicine is an open access journal publishing papers on all aspects of infection and infectious disease, with a particular focus on research at the intersection of emerging infectious diseases and zoonotic infections. Submissions from any field of infectious diseases and pathogens including viruses, bacteria and parasites will be considered provided the articles contribute to our understanding or management of disease states, diagnostics, and treatments, or the pathogenesis of diseases and host-pathogen interactions. In September 2020, the journal was selected as a "New Journal with High Starting Point” under the 2020 China Science and Technology Journal Excellence Action Plan. The journal has since been indexed by several major databases: it was accepted by Scopus in November 2022, by CABI in April 2023, by DOAJ in August 2023, by PMC in December 2023, and most recently, by ESCI in July 2024.
