On October 25th, nine members of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) in the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) came to Tsinghua University Press (TUP) to make a survey into the development of STEM journals.

Led by XU Yanhao, member of the standing committee of the CPPCC, the Survey Team firstly visited the exhibition room of TUP, learned about the development of STEM journals and digital platform of TUP through texts, images, journals and multimedia, and talked with editorial staff of Nano Research and the operation personnel of the SciOpen platform. Then, a symposium was held to discuss the status quo of STEM journals.

At the symposium, president QIU Xianqing introduced the progress made by TUP in launching world-class STEM journals and a digital publishing platform that catering to the needs of researchers all over the world. Members of the national committee of CPPCC and experts discussed and exchanged views on a series of topics, including how to increase the global reach of STEM journals, operation  of digital platforms, open science, and application of large models.
