On 2nd December, the 5th Computer Education Conference of China (CECC) was held at Xiamen International Conference Center. With the theme “New Era·New Computation·New Concept”, the conference attracted more than 100 leaders and experts, and more than 3000 college teachers and industrial representatives from across China to have a joint discussion on the new concepts, new technology and new trends of computer education in the new era.

WU Jianping, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, chairman of the Computer Professional Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education, and professor of Tsinghua University hosted the opening ceremony. The conference lasted for two days. On the afternoon of 2nd December, 11 parallel sessions were hosted to have a comprehensive discussion on the new trends and new ideas of computer education development in China and explore the solutions to the problems of teaching innovation, industry-university cooperation, science and education collaboration, and talent training. The sessions centered on a wide range of topics, including: how to build first-class computer discipline and train high-level talents, how to cultivate innovative software talents in the era of intelligence, industry-university collaboration on network security, teaching platform with a focus on network security practices, educational reform of computer basics, digital teaching resources of computer science, development of young teachers in the field of computer science, & etc.
On 3rd December, three forums with the themes “Plan 101”, “Intelligent Computing System” and “Big Model Technology and Education Innovation” were held. The “Plan 101” forum brought together well-known experts and scholars from the 33 universities included in the “Top Plan 2.0” to explore the reform of computer science core curriculum and teaching. “Intelligent Computing System” forum introduced the collaborative program between Ministry of Education and Huawei in field of ‘Intelligent Base’ industry-education integration, and shared practical experiences on the integration of industry and education, and science and education. Co-hosted by Baidu, the “Big Model Technology and Education Innovation” forum discussed and exchanged ideas about the frontier application and development trend of large model technology in the education industry, and shared the experience of big model talent cultivation.
Since its inception in 2019, China Computer Education Conference (CECC) has resonated with the pulse of computer education reform and innovation in the new era, and has attracted nearly 15,000 participants. It has become an important supportive and driving force for China’s computer education and industry. In the future, CECC will continue to uphold the spirit of keeping pace with the times, promote the deep integration of computer education and science and technology industry, and make unremitting efforts to promote the high-quality development of computer education in China.
