The 7th Computer Education Conference of China (CECC), themed “New Intelligence, New Paradigms, New Era” kicked off in Xiamen, Fujian Province, on November 29.
The conference, featuring 12 parallel sub-forums, 4 main forums, and a salon, seeks to inject strong momentum into the development of a high-quality talent cultivation system and accelerate the growth of new quality productive forces by deepening the integration of industry and education, fostering innovation in educational paradigms and broadening international perspectives. Tsinghua University Press (TUP) was one of the co-organizers of the conference.
The two-day event brought together more than a hundred experts and scholars from academia, education, and industry, including members of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. They engaged in discussions on the transformation and future of computer education amid the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor WU Yongwei from the Department of Computer Science and Technology, Tsinghua University. Distinguished guests in attendance included: ZHAO Qinping, Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) and professor at Beihang University; WU Jianping, Member of the CAE and professor at Tsinghua University; JOHN Hopcroft, Foreign Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), emeritus professor at Cornell University, and recipient of the Turing Award; HE You, Member of the CAE and Vice Chairman of the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence; WANG Xiaoyun, Member of the CAS and professor at Tsinghua University; Nyima Tashi, Member of the CAE and professor at Xizang University; YANG Zongkai, former president of Wuhan University of Technology; SONG Yi, former first-level inspector of the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education; SHENG Xiaoguang, researcher from the Science and Technology Division of the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education; LIN Dongwei, Executive Deputy Secretary of the CPC Xiamen University Committee; WU Jianping, President of Huaqiao University; ZHU Shunzhi, Vice President of Xiamen University of Technology; YIN Xia, Director of the Department of Computer Science and Technology, Tsinghua University; and ZHAO Xin, President of TUP.
Guided by the Department of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education, the CECC has attracted over 20,000 participants across its past six sessions and has become a vital platform for driving the integration and coordinated development of China's computer education and industry.
