Journal of Neurorestoratology Migrates to SciOpen
September 16, 2026

The Journal of Neurorestoratology (JNR) announces a significant milestone in its development: the journal officially migrates to SciOpen, a world-class independent digital publishing platform developed by Tsinghua University Press. This transition marks a new chapter for JNR and sets the journal on a more autonomous, globally connected path.

As of September 1, 2026, all new manuscripts should be submitted via the new ScholarOne system at https://mc03.manuscriptcentral.com/jnrt. The former EM system, hosted by Elsevier, was officially retired on August 31, 2026, and is no longer available for manuscript access or submission. This transition is part of the conclusion of the publishing partnership with Elsevier, which ends on December 31, 2026. Beginning in 2027, JNR will be published and managed entirely on the SciOpen platform by Tsinghua University Press.

SciOpen is a pioneering digital publishing platform launched by Tsinghua University Press in 2022. It provides open access to more than 200 journals across diverse academic disciplines and reaches users in over 230 countries and regions, generating approximately 15 million page views per month. The transition to SciOpen is expected to offer a more dynamic, efficient, and globally connected publishing environment for authors, reviewers, and readers.

Authors should use the new ScholarOne link above for all new submissions, which will be processed through the SciOpen ecosystem. Manuscripts submitted before August 31, 2026 that are currently under review or revision will continue to be handled through the old system until a final decision is made. For manuscripts submitted before August 31, 2026 that remain in initial review, as well as for any new revisions or resubmissions requested after August 31, 2026, authors should contact the editorial office for specific guidance on how to proceed. JNR gratefully acknowledges its partnership with Elsevier over the years and looks forward with great anticipation to a new era with SciOpen.

If you have any questions or encounter technical issues, please contact the editorial office at jneurorestor@tup.tsinghua.edu.cn. The Journal of Neurorestoratology acknowledges with gratitude the continued support and contributions it has received.
